Information/Support Materials from our event on 30th June 2010
The Qualifications and Curriculum Development Authority (QCDA) requires that individual practitioners be qualified appropriately to hold Direct Claims Status. In N/OCN Centres this means that Internal Verifiers who seek Direct Claims Status must hold Approved Internal Verifier Status (AIVS). The Approval Internal Verifier will be responsible for the quality assurance of that learning provision and for the safety and security of the Award of Credit to learners on those courses.
The quality assurance of N/OCN provision is the responsibility of the Centre and is supported by the OCN Quality Reviewer. In Centres where Internal Verifiers are working towards AIVS, the External Verification and Recommendation for the Award of Credit will be carried out by OCN Quality Reviewers.
There is a need for all qualified Internal Verifiers who have not worked with N/OCN provision to undertake conversion training to verify N/OCN achievement.
Please use the chart below to choose the most appropriate route for training.

AIVS is awarded to an individual for an agreed curriculum area within a N/OCN recognised centre. Any requests to add more course areas to an existing AIVS remit must be submitted to the Centre’s QR for approval. Individuals moving to a different Centre must submit a new application for AIVS at that Centre.
Please note that AIVS does not apply to Schools or Access to HE provision.
