The Open College Network South West Region (OCNSWR) is a qualification and accreditation awarding body, operating under licence from the National Open College Network. We are an Authorised Validating Agency for Access to Higher Education courses, licensed by the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education.
A not for profit company limited by guarantee operating from offices based in Cheltenham and Plymouth, we work with a wide range of education and training providers including; FE Colleges, Adult Education Centres, Employers and Voluntary and Community Organisations throughout the South West Region as defined by the Regional Development Agency. We offer national qualifications and locally developed and accredited courses depending on provider needs.
We are looking for three individuals with sound governance experience, interest in corporate social responsibility and especially those with skills in marketing, business development, human resources or finance to join our Board of up to twelve members. A keen interest in education and learning coupled with an understanding of the post 16 education environment would be an advantage but not essential.
The Directors of the company meet a minimum of 4 times a year and will be required to attend occasional events and functions organised by the OCN from time to time. Positions are undertaken on a voluntary basis although expenses may be claimed if necessary.
