Previously Dee worked in two FE colleges in the South West teaching a range of mainly business related subjects from Level 2 to Level 4 (HND). As a team leader, she led the leisure and tourism department of a large college in the south west, where her responsibilities included overseeing the quality of assessment through internal verification and standardisation. Her specific interest in quality in assessment came from her Business Management degree where her dissertation topic was Quality in Education.

More recently Dee has interpreted the new QCF standards for the Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) Award and devised materials for their delivery and for the use of centre quality assurers for two awarding organisations.

Dee continues to deliver the IQA, the IQA Update for those who hold a forerunner of the IQA (e.g. the NOCN IMA, D34 or V1 Awards), and Assessor training for OCNSWR.   In addition, she delivers similar courses for a South West college as well as NVQs in Management from Levels 3 – 7.

Outside of education Dee works with Women’s and Children’s organisations in a voluntary capacity.  Her other interests include reading, travelling, homemaking and gardening.
