Centre FAQs

What are the costs for qualifications?

Click here for details of our fees and charges. Details of qualification fees can be found on the NOCN website.

How do I register my learners?

All of your learners can be registered using our secure Electronic Learner Registration (ELR) process. Please use your username and password to access the secure centre area where you will find detailed instructions. Download our 'How to Register Learners' guide for further information.

How do I set up a new course?

Before starting to deliver a new course you need to complete and return a New Course Notification Form. We will then check that your intended course structure and contents adheres to any current rules of combination for the qualification, to avoid delays later on at the point of registration.

Please note that you can make changes to the course after submission of the form, but do please advise us of any amendments/additions that are made, by submitting an updated form.

My username and password for ELR doesn't appear to be working?

Please check that you are typing uppercase or lowercase appropriately as the website is case sensitive. If you are still experiencing problems please contact your Customer Support Officer who will be happy to assist you.

How do I change a learner's surname?

Please send a copy of the document confirming the change of name (e.g. marriage certificate) to your Customer Support Officer.

How do I change my registration details?

Please email your Customer Support Officer with details of the changes.

I have some additional learners to register onto an existing class – how do I do this?

You will need to register your learners in the usual way ensuring that you state on the registration which Class/Run ID the learners are to be registered onto.  Depending on the start date of the course you may be required to pay a late registration fee for additional learners.  If you require further guidance please contact your Customer Support Officer who will advise you.

Why have I been charged a late registration fee for my learners?

For short courses (less than 12 weeks duration) centres are required to register learners within 25 working days of the start date of the course.  For all other courses, centres are required to register learners within 40 working days of the start date.  You will be charged the current late registration fee for any registrations submitted to us which do not comply with these registration deadlines.

How do I change contact details for my centre?

Please complete a Centre Recognition Amendment Form to change any details for your centre, and email back to us. We will then update the details on our database and email you to confirm this.

If I want to work in a consortium of centres, what things do I need to consider?

Consortium arrangements are useful when there is a small centre or several small centres who want to share expertise, good practice, and experience, and also pay just one annual Centre Recognition Fee. The arrangements can vary. Sometimes a larger centre can ‘look after’ one or more small centres, or a group of small centres can work out arrangements among themselves, agreeing which will be ‘lead centre’. Some of the questions that need to be considered in setting up a consortium can be downloaded here.

Where can I find a LARA code (previously known as a LAD code)?

All Learning Aim Reference Application codes can be found via the Learning Aim Reference Application search facility.

How can I obtain a replacement certificate for my learners?

You can submit your request for replacement certificates by sending us a completed Replacement Certificate Request form. Please use your username and password to access this document in the secure centre area.
