NOCN’s Functional Skills qualifications are available in English, Mathematics and ICT at Entry 1, Entry 2, Entry 3, Level 1 and Level 2. The qualifications are suitable for learners of varying ages, as shown in the graph below that shows the age breakdown of NOCN registered learners in the 2010-11 academic year.
Moving from Key Skills to Functional Skills
The Association of Employment and Learning Providers (AELP), in collaboration with Learning and Skills Improvement Service (LSIS) has produced a practical guide ‘Moving from Key Skills to Functional Skills’ for all skills providers making the transition to Functional Skills qualification delivery within Apprenticeships from September 2012.

How do I get approval to deliver Functional Skills?
To deliver Functional Skills you must be a Recognised Centre and achieve 'enhanced recognition status'. Ask your Development Manager or call the Plymouth Office on 01752 831500 for more information on getting approved for Functional Skills.
