14 to 19 Provision

Education, training and skills policy over the last decade has aimed to ensure that young people are prepared to exploit the benefits of our society and enter the global economy. We need to give young people all the necessary skills; including the skills for life, such as literacy, numeracy and work disciplines that are specified by employers as important for all jobs.

We have a wide portfolio of innovative credit-based qualifications for 14-19 year olds, covering key aspects such as employability, key skills, and Personal Social Health Economic (PSHE) education. Many of the qualifications attract points on the School and College Achievement and Attainment Tables (SCAAT).

View the below video to hear Devon Integrated Support Services (formerly Devon Action) talking about how they use the NOCN Step UP qualification with their 14-19 year olds learners.

NOCN White Paper

The National Open College Network (NOCN) have recently published a white paper in response to the Government's consultation paper entitled "Qualifications for 14-16 year olds and Performance tables", published in July 2011. Click here to download the whitepaper.

Visit our Learner Success Stories section to see how some of our centres have used these qualifications with their 14-19 learners.
